Test guide.

Welcome to Arké. It's experimental, so your testing really helps. This guide walks you through the app's features in order, so you get to see everything and we get to hear what breaks.

Join the community

Before you start, join us on Discord. It's where testers share feedback, ask questions, and find partners to test payments with. You'll need one for Test 4, and it's helpful to have the community available if you get stuck.

What you'll need

  • Arké installed via TestFlight
  • A small amount of bitcoin you can afford to lose, and another wallet to send it from
  • About 20 minutes of hands-on time, plus some waiting for onchain steps in Tests 6 and 8
  • Another Arké user to swap payments with in Test 4 (you can find one on Discord)

Arké runs on bitcoin mainnet, so you're testing with real bitcoin. The app is experimental, so please only use small amounts.

If you're a developer and would rather test without real funds, you can pick signet on the intro screen. Signet is a test network with free test bitcoin. Where signet works differently, the guide says so.

Known issues

The following features are incomplete or not working in this build:

  • No choice of Ark server: Eventually, you'll be able to choose between different servers. For now, there is only one.
  • Force moves need check-ins: A force move to savings goes through several steps and can take 10 hours or more. The app can only continue while it's open, so it sends you reminders to open it every so often until the move is done. We're working on making this smoother.
